Xiaomi India has attained yet another landmark achievement this year by creating its first Guinness world record of building the largest light mosaic in the world. Depicting its popular MI logo, the light mosaic was laid out by assembling 9,590 bulbs to construct the composite Mi logo, which was a milestone achievement on its own, given the attention to detail and intricacy of the pattern work. This Guinness World Record created and executed by Wizcraft sits proudly on the terrace of Xiaomi’s new head office in Bengaluru.
The light mosaic by Xiaomi India was a special initiative to highlight the brand’s unique position in India wherein it grew exponentially in just 3 years since its inception, to become the no. 1 smartphone brand of the nation. Further highlighting the brand’s effort towards pursuing unconventional modes of marketing and promotional techniques, which sets it apart from most other smartphone brands, the light mosaic was designed to symbolize the collective contribution of Xiaomi India employees and Mi fans who’s added efforts led to the overall major success of the brand.
The entire launch journey was carefully curated with innovative thematic experiences to highlight the key features of the new brand. As a pre-seeding exercise, the media received the new phone in an ingenious flight case. A blue coloured Electro-luminescent wire was integrated in the lid of the flight case to convey liquid cooling. The invite for the event included a smartly designed Flipbook with the key message of speed and an invite card in a box. At the launch, the liquid cooling feature of the mobile phone was shown. The innovative liquid cooling tunnel was put together to deliver an illusion of walking inside a mobile phone. The tunnel walls had blue coloured liquid tubes with running liquid operated through hidden motors. Dry ice at various points added to the overall cooling impact.
The design language for the event was inspired by the brand positioning - ‘Master of Speed’. Yellow and black colour scheme was used across all spaces. Strategically placed arrows and light trails conveyed speed and momentum. The curved LED screen on stage was designed like a giant arrow thrusting ahead
